Harkening back to Pine Avenue's famous Birdland West, a new jazz joint under construction may revive downtown's ragtime scene. The Backstage should open in the winter of 2008 in downtown Long Beach. This venue will be next door to the Vault 350 and should seat 260 people with an atmosphere that should sell it's self without the entertainment.
