Singing became Leah's passion at a very young age. As a child she grew up as a prominent soloist in the world music choir VOENA. In the nine years she was a part of the choir she traveled and sang in China, Mexico, Italy, Greece, and Japan. She also sang at the White House six times with the group. VOENA gave her the opportunity to perform in front of a vast audience and a love for world music.

Early on Leah became enthralled by jazz and blues artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James. Her powerful sultry voice fit perfectly into the tunes from the jazz era.
