Since 2006, trumpeter Christian Scott, also known as Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, has emerged as one of the brightest stars in jazz. Steeped in the jazz tradition and intent on participating in the music’s evolution, the New Orleans-raised, Berklee College of Music grad is indeed a significant voice making an impact on the future of jazz. He rocketed to international recognition with his Grammy-nominated debut, Rewind That, at the age of 22. Since then he’s gone on to record seven albums and has worked with Prince, McCoy Tyner, Solange Knowles, Thom Yorke and more. On his recent album Christian aTunde Adjuah, Scott delves into uncharted territory continuing to compose and perform with a sophistication far beyond his years.
