Catherine Russell’s reputation as a dynamic jazz and blues vocalist has been on the rise for the past decade. The former backup singer for Levon Helm, Paul Simon, Jackson Browne, Steely Dan, and David Bowie has been gradually conquering the music world as a solo artist since the release of her 2006 debut album Cat. She was voted Vocalist of the Year in the 2008 and 2010 Village Voice Jazz Critics Polls.
